Title and Summary

ERS Manager-2 Overview

Mastercard is looking for a Manager level, Employee Relations Services (Advisor) to join its Global Employee Relations team. The primary focus of this role is to support and assist in the administration of our performance management processes for UK and Ireland. The role will involve working closely with People Leaders, People Business Partners/ER and employment law. The ideal candidate will help foster a positive and productive work environment by ensuring fair and consistent performance management practices. The desired candidate will leverage ER best practices and processes to support our culture of decency and fairness consistent with Mastercard values and local laws.

This position will be based in London, United Kingdom.

Role:
• Support and strive for operational excellence in low performance management, phishing failures, adherence to Hybrid work policy and other adhoc projects.
• Handle performance management and probation issues, including any disciplinary/dismissal procedures in accordance to both UK and Ireland employment law and best practice.
• Provide support to employees and managers in understanding and using performance management practices. Assist in the preparation of performance-related documentation, including Managerial Coaching Plans, supporting all stages of the process.
• Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding performance issues, providing guidance and support.
• Partnering and advising internal stakeholders such as the People Business Partners and the business on matters performance, phishing failures, probation, including extensions and probation failures and dismissals.
• Demonstrate a change management mindset through identification of opportunities to enhance the employee experience through process improvement and refinement of services; offer potential solutions to drive greater stakeholder satisfaction. Actively engage in change to drive successful execution.
• Act with a sense of urgency and demonstrate appropriate judgement and escalate issues in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Participate in Employee Relations investigations related to performance issues and employee complaints as needed.

• Experience in handling performance management and Managerial Coaching Plans
• Strong analytical/fact based decision-making skills combined with the ability to think innovatively.
• Knowledge of applicable Employee Relations policies/procedures and business practices.
• General knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations.
• Ability to work in a global, matrixed, and complex business and to work effectively as part of a team.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and ability to effectively partner and influence across the organization.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with composure.
• Strong organizational/time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience, tact, and respect.
• Exceptional detail and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Bachelor's Degree required.
