NJM's Facility Operations Department is seeking a Corporate Safety & Security Specialist to develop and manage corporate safety and security programs and practices, standards, programs including critical incident response for our three company locations (West Trenton, Hammonton and Parsippany).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and advance corporate safety policies, standards, and programs for employees, contractors, and visitors throughout NJM facilities.
  • Provide safety program leadership, partnering with operations staff to establish safety strategies and goals to implement pro-active and remedial actions, including training, inspections, auditing, and incident reporting. 
  • Oversee the OSHA compliance program to ensure a safe workplace is maintained that is free of hazards.
  • Manage safety program information and records.
  • Plan and supervise routine assessments of business conditions and practices to identify safety hazards and take steps to rectify them.
  • Follow up on concerns to ensure precautions are being taken and safety measures are in place.
  • Manage and implement corporate security strategy, programming, and operations at the three NJM facilities.
  • Ensure that the security program is cost-effective and reasonable for program implementation.
  • Provide leadership, establish priorities, and give direction to security services, and off-duty police services.
  • Confirm the program effectively achieves the intended goals and objectives.
  • Communicate and document security needs that must be satisfied to meet program requirements. Promote the core values of service, accountability, and integrity. 
  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of all security program records.
  • Organize and direct periodic inspections and audits of contract security services.
  • Keep up to date on and engage local emergency services agency's contacts and practices.
  • Participate in the company Emergency Response program.
  • Participate in Business Continuity program.
  • Respond to special requests from management.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Five years of progressively responsible corporate security, public safety, or emergency management experience. 
  • Experience in corporate safety regulatory compliance.
  • 5 years' experience in a supervisory capacity with leadership experience and the ability to effectively coach, communicate and negotiate with others.
  • Proven ability to be discreet, tactful, and timely in all operations.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.  
  • Flexible work schedule including nights and weekends.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of security related systems such as:
    • CCTV system
    • Visitor Management system
    • Building Alarm system
    • Fire Alarm System
    • Building Automation Systems
    • Automated Notification Systems

The salary range for this role is 102, 128 - 117,500 and is commensurate with skills and experience.
